Air quality data analysis and internal quality control

The collection of data on air quality involves the taking of a limited number of samples from a very variable and uncontrolled population. Air quality data is analysed using statistical methods to describe the behaviour of the total population based on a finite number of samples. In particular, statistical parameters can be calculated to describe difficult and maximum values and the range of data. The first two sections of the chapter discuss the treatment of typical and peak values and the third one discuss the range of the data.
