Good Laboratory Practice

A number of laboratory operations and precautions related to the analysis of water quality parameters must be routinely performed in a laboratory to obtain reliable information. These practices are termed as Good Laboratory Practices. Some analyses that measure the extremely small level of contaminants or use advanced level of instrumentation would require special precautions practices that are to be followed really. The practices to be followed while preparing chemicals and reagents, cleaning the glassware, measuring weights maintaining equipment, recording the data, collecting and preserving samples, etc have been explained in this chapter.
