Plants are living organisms and hence are prone to suffer toxicity of the air pollutants like any other organism. Still, there are expected to scavenge pollutants from the ambient air through the limited capacity they possess for this sorption and neutralize the absorbed pollutants. a large amount of information has been generated about the nature of plant pollutant interaction but very little authentic information in the Indian context has been generated about the role of plants in the absorption of air pollutants.
